Adults Go To Vegas!

Several months ago, good friends Leland and Sonia Villalvazo, invited us to go to Vegas with a third couple to spend three amazing childless days in their high rise time share!  We've been saving money ever since to have a fabulous trip!

First step was to drop kiddos off at Mama and Papa's house in Bakersfield.

The dogs were going to Bakersfield for a vacation as well!

After saying goodbye to the kids, we headed east.  And it took forever!  There were several accidents that slowed traffic to approximately 11 miles per hour.  We didn't roll into Vegas until after 6 p.m.  Eight hours of traveling will leave me cranky.  I did finish a book, so that was productive.

There just is not much that is good about this long drive.  It's ugly and long.  However, Leland and Sonia didn't fare much better trying to fly out of Fresno.  They were supposed to leave at 3:45, but due to plane issues, they didn't get into Vegas until 2 a.m!  Yikes!

Gorgeous view!  We stayed at the Hilton Grand Vacation hotel.  Pretty stunning!  Each couple had their own bedroom and bathroom.

Saturday morning smoothie making for Paula.  There was a kitchen, living room and dining area for all to share.

The kitchen was stocked with all the utensils and dishes we needed.  Pretty efficient place!  I tried Paula's smoothie.  It wasn't bad, but I think I'll stick to my chocolate Shakeology!

We spent the day by the pool in our own cabana on Saturday.  In the evening, Eric and I had tickets to see the show Zumantiy.  It was really fun to see.  It was also fun being on a date in Vegas!

All weekend long I wanted to go to Serendipity for an ice cream sundae.  We made it there on Sunday evening and had dinner as well.  Eric got the enormous steak sandwich.

I got the three-layer stacked grilled cheese.  Oh yumminess!

We were about to order our sundae for dessert when we saw this lushness at the next table and decided to order a cheesecake of our own to share.  And it was good.  Very good.

After getting back to the hotel, we got ready to go see La Reve/The Dream at the Wynn hotel.  Leland ordered a limo for the six of us to ride in to get to the show.  So much fun!  It's pretty cool cruising down Las Vegas Blvd. in a limo while all the little people are walking on the street!  Just kidding!

!
La Reve takes place in water.  It was amazing!  I can't do it justice with words.  The lighting, the costumes, the water, the set, the dancing, the skills...it was all too much to take in.  Stunning!  I would LOVE to see it again!

Waiting for the show to start.  Such a great night!

We left Monday morning to go get our babies.  I enjoy time alone with Eric, but I also love the welcome home hugs!  Back to work for me.

  1. The food in those pictures looks positively decadent. Getting some alone time away from the kids is a great way to relieve some stress, especially when you’re spending it with close friends in a fantastic location. Now I just need to convince the hubby to take some time off work to take a trip like yours!
